After School Nannies/Before School Nannies

Nannies on Demand field a large number of before & after school nanny positions and are always recruiting quality candidates to fill these roles.  It is imperative that you have some form of childcare experience in a similar role & great time management skills as these roles are generally very busy & entail a variety of tasks.  Tasks can include any of the following:  School drop offs/pick ups, organising breakfast, packing lunches, getting the children ready for the day, assisting with homework, ferrying children to after school activities, laundry, baking, cooking the evening meal & some light household chores. 

When working through our agency, we ensure that our before school nannies are guaranteed a minimum of two hours for morning shifts & three hours for afternoon shifts.  Shifts for mornings can start anywhere from 5:30am, with afternoons typically commencing at 2.30pm/2:45pm.

In order to be considered as an after school or before school nanny, we require you:
 
  • To have a genuine interest in playing an active role in school aged children's after school routines
  • To have a good level of English  (The majority of roles require after school nannies to assist with homework)
  • To have a full drivers licence (90% of roles require fully licenced drivers)
  • To be prepared to undertake an initial phone interview
  • To be prepared to undertake a full interview
  • To be prepared to undertake a police check or provide proof of a current police check
  • To provide us with completed Nannies on Demand registration and vetting forms
  • To have at least 1 years proven practical experience in a similar role ie; after school nanny, after school based programme, school holiday programme (Outside of friends & family & evening babysitting)
  • Provide us with an up to date CV, listing all referees & previous positions since leaving your place of employment with clear explanations of any gaps
  • Provide a copy of your Drivers Licence
  • Provide at least 2 of the following:  Passport, Birth Cert, Photo ID identification
  • Provide proof of relevant qualifications (These will be followed up with the appropriate agency should copies not be made available) 
  • Details of at least two-three verbal referees with full contact and address details, who have been previous employers within the last five years
  • One written reference or 1 verbal referee with full contact and address details, who can provide a character reference, or a professional person who is known to you and your family for a minimum of four years (neighbour, teacher, etc;)
  • Proof of a current First Aid Certificate  (If you do not already have one we can assist in directing you to the right agency to obtain one. 
  • Provide proof of a Work Permit or Working Holiday Visa if you are not a New Zealand resident.  

REGISTRATION & PLACEMENT IS FREE.

Hourly Rates & Mileage Allowance.

When working through Nannies on Demand as an after school nanny within the Auckland & Wellington regions, you can be guaranteed an hourly rate of $20 – $30 (depending on the job expectations, client's budget, your experience and qualifications, however qualifications aren't a prerequisite for these positions).  An mileage allowance of .73 cents per KM will also be paid to all Nannies who are required to use their own car for childcare related duties related to their employment.

Interviews are by appointment only, we do not accept walk ins or phone interviews.

We will contact you to advise you of an interview time should your application be successful.  ++ Please be courteous and advise us if you are unable to commit to an interview time, we are happy to reschedule++.   Failure to advise us in good time may result in your application being refused.  It may be necessary in some circumstances due to demographics to undertake an interview using Skype.  Please note that in order to be interviewed via Skype you will need to have access to a headset/microphone and a webcam.
